Your boring life is beautiful
What I love about life is waking up every day, everything feels like a fresh start, and there's a chance to continue whatever was left unfinished yesterday.
Back when I was home, waking up late 15 mins in the morning can easily turn into 40 minutes late at work. Why? It's the damn traffic that just wouldn't move.
Do I care about being late at work?
Big No, as long as I get the job done, timekeeping doesn't matter.
How do I feel? Frustrated, bored, annoyed, ...
And most of all: Stuck.
Remember those motivational speeches that say being born at this point in time is already a miracle, and that you should always live your life to the fullest. Does it mean you always have to feel miraculous being alive?
What if most of the time, you feel the opposite, that your life is quite … dull?
Like when you're stuck in traffic.
Like when you're stuck in … life. When everyone around appears to know where they're going, and people seem to move faster than you.
I’ve always loved to drive, wandering from place to place on my bad boy.
I enjoy every bit of the 5 hours continuously on the road. My friends call me "dân tổ", but I don't care whether I'm the fastest, nor intend to be.
So I don't think the 40 minutes late to work or seeing others move faster are the reasons that make me frustrated, and sometimes annoyed.
But it's the feeling of being STUCK.
It's the feeling that everything happening does not live up to your "miraculous life", and all of it feels average somehow.
But try this
Picture yourself at the end of your life, on your deathbed. You've lived a good full life, but you can barely move or function anymore. Many of your loved ones have already passed on. But you get to go back to one day, without changing anything, just to experience it one more time.
.

.
Imagine it's today, does it make you experience life any different?
☘️ Will you be annoyed when stuck in the traffic?
☘️ Will spending a whole day doing absolutely nothing make you feel bored, mentally punishing yourself for being useless?
Life is inherently beautiful, like a delicious meal, the people we coincidentally meet, falling snow, golden leaves, chilly weather, an interesting story, a drizzle, a moment spent with family, beside a loved one, a flower by the roadside, a piece of music that makes your feet dance, and the smile on your face.
We often label ordinary things as boring, but if there's only one day to live, this seemingly mundane life becomes strangely beautiful.
What I love about life is waking up every day, everything feels like a fresh start, and there's a chance to continue whatever was left unfinished yesterday.
